Throughout my career I have always kept an easel and my oil paints set up in a corner of my studio.  My paintings are shaped by a foundation in architecture and illustration. I approach the canvas as a constructed space- considering structure, composition and light-while allowing the material qualities of oil to introduce atmosphere and subtle unpredictability. Oil painting for me has always been a way to escape the constraints of strict deadlines and client driven feedback so that I can explore different ideas freely.
